For those of you who has never watched it, Tosh.0 is a weekly show that gets its material from the internet. The show is hosted by Daniel Tosh, who offers commentary on the video clips found online. Tosh.0 recently made it to one of the top slots on Neilson’s most watched cable programs list for March 2012. It is gaining in popularity due to the entertainment and shock value of the clips, and the sometimes biting commentary Tosh has to offer.
Tosh has a unique brand of wit that is immediately obvious to viewers. While he may look a little plain, there is nothing bland about the way he delivers his brand of comedy or his thoughts on a particular clip.
Be forewarned, this show is not family-friendly. Most parents will not want their young children watching this program, due to the adult content incorporated into the dialogue, and the nudity that is used in reenactments. However, the show comes on Tuesday nights at 10:00 pm on Comedy Central, so most young children are asleep by that time.
For the adults that need some comic relief, this show offers it in vast amounts. One of the features this show offers is a second chance for the subjects of viral videos that are embarrassing. This Tosh.0 “Web Redemptions” offer interviews with these subjects, as well as sketches and commentary. All in all, it’s hilarious.
The videos and clips themselves are unique, usually not something that has been splashed all over the web. The clips can show otherwise normal human beings acting in ways that don’t exactly run along the lines of common sense or wisdom. They include scenes depicting people shooting themselves, or injuring themselves in some other way. One clip showed a man slipping in his friend’s vomit. It’s a wide variety of stupidity, snap decisions that end in injury and other amusing, but not-too-smart antics that get posted online for the world to see. Tosh.0 also delves into the collection of clips posted by exhibitionists. Some of the before-mentioned nudity comes from videos shot from all over the world, in which people seem driven to take their clothes off in public for no good reason.
Keeping with the show’s flow, Tosh adds his commentary to the viewing of these videos. He offers his viewpoints with a sharp, to-the-point humor he has become known for.
Daniel Tosh was named by Variety as one of the “10 Comics to Watch” in 2005. He went on to validate that recommendation with a sold out national tour in 2010. His tour went through more than 50 cities. In addition to touring, Tosh has performed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno“, “The Late Show with David Letterman“, “The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn“, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Last Call with Carson Daly“. He also appeared on MTV’s “Punk’d” and VH1’s “Best Week Ever”. He even had a part in “The Love Guru”, with Mike Myers in 2008. Tosh.0 can be fou
