The first dance of the second half of the third show begins with Katherine and Mark. Katherine opens with her story about learning her father had lung cancer in 1996 and loses him quickly. She chose “To Where You Are” as the music to her dazzling Waltz with Mark. Carrie Ann feels the emotion of her father’s arms wrapped around her as she danced, Len wanted to see more holds but praises the dancer since he is in a good mood, and Bruno says is was sensational as they offer up a two tens for the night at a total of 29 points.
Sherri and Val begin with Sherri’s story of her premature son’s brush with Cerebral Palsy and calls him her little miracle as he surprises her with an emotional visit during rehearsal. She was reduced to tears as her son cheered her on in their Rumba routine. Len appreciated the emotional well-performed dance, Bruno said she was so passionate in the dance he thought she was going to lose it, and Carrie Ann boasts about her lines this week for their 24 pointer for the night.
Melissa and Maks are next as Melissa tells of breaking her back only one and a half years ago. Determined to make their Jive show that those bad times are behind her, Melissa and Maks vary their speed into a most entertaining performance. Bruno says Melissa is on a mission to add raunchiness to her dance for a little spice, Carrie Ann saw her let loose for a change, and Len says she has arrived for the competition as they also take a 24 for the evening.
Jaleel and Kym begin with Jaleel’s most memorable moment of his show that he played Stephon. He was also reduced to tears at the end of the performance to Babyface’s “For the Cool in You” as his smooth moves surfaced in their Rumba. According to Carrie Ann, he is back in the dance, Len feels the arms were a little stiff, and Bruno agrees with Len but thought the dance was very good. The judges offered up 25 points for the dance.
William and Cheryl heat up the night as she rips off his shirt to please the crowd after William expresses his coming to the US in 1995 as his most memorable moment. As the couple performs a sexy Salsa, the cheers get louder. Len says it was loose and wonderful, Bruno said it was amazing, and Carrie Ann says, “ridiculously hot.” The couple boasted 28 points for the night.
The last couple of the night was Donald and Peta as he chooses a song by Mariah Carey, “One Sweet Day” and he talks about losing a close friend. They danced an emotional Rumba to the fullest. Carrie Ann was reduced to tears and was touched by his passion, Len was surprised by his warmth and affection, and Bruno said he was controlled as they pull out a 26 for the performance.
